Fair Use Policy

A short, plain-English guide to using Distribution.studio responsibly so the platform stays fast and reliable for every team.

Effective May 27, 2026

This policy supplements our Terms of Service. It describes the usage expectations that apply to all Distribution.studio plans.

1. Purpose

This Fair Use Policy keeps Distribution.studio fast, reliable, and affordable for every customer. It explains what reasonable usage looks like and what happens when usage falls outside those bounds.

2. What counts as reasonable use

Plans with “unlimited” or high allowances assume normal business usage by a single organization. Reasonable use includes:

  • Running audits and campaigns for domains your organization owns or manages.
  • Usage patterns consistent with the number of seats on your plan.
  • Automated requests that stay within published rate limits.

3. Activity that exceeds fair use

  • Sharing a single account across multiple organizations or teams.
  • Reselling outputs or providing access to non-licensed users.
  • Generating excessive automated load that degrades performance for others.
  • Circumventing rate limits, quotas, or plan restrictions.

4. Rate limits

API and automation endpoints are subject to published rate limits. If you need higher throughput for a legitimate use case, contact us about an enterprise plan rather than working around the limits.

5. How we enforce this policy

When usage materially exceeds fair use, we will normally reach out first to understand your needs and find a suitable plan. Where usage threatens platform stability or violates these terms, we may throttle, suspend, or require an upgrade.

  • Step 1 — We notify you and discuss your usage.
  • Step 2 — We propose an appropriate plan or limit adjustment.
  • Step 3 — If unresolved, we may apply throttling or suspension.

6. Questions

If you are unsure whether your intended usage fits this policy, ask us in advance. We would rather help you scale than surprise you with a limit.
